The services of the National Productivity Centre are provided by a core team of key staff and by a number of associates selected for their specific expertise and experience. The following are key members of our team.

 

JohnHeap

The Director of the National Productivity Centre is John Heap. John is President of the World Confederation of Productivity Science, a member of the Board of the European Association of National Productivity Centres, a member of the Council of the Institute of Management Services and co-editor of the international Journal of Productivity & Performance Management. John is the author of two books and numerous journal and conference papers and acts as an international consultant to a number of governments and NGOs.

 

  
 Mike Bolton 

Mike Bolton has worked with clients ranging from small businesses to multinational companies on assignments from market research to business planning and management development.

During the past few years he has worked in Azerbaijan on an EU project to develop SME's and spent three months in China setting up consultancy and short course programmes at Beijing International University.  Mike recently completed an assignment as a consultant to Enterprise Ethiopia on behalf of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). He is also a regular contributor to an Executive MBA programme run by City College (an affiliate of the University of Sheffield) in Thessaloniki, Greece, in Belgrade, Serbia and in Bucharest, Romania for managers from the Balkan region. In October 2006 he was made a Fellow of the World Academy of Productivity Science at the 14th World Productivity Congress in Shenyang, China.
  
 Will Davies

Will Davies is a researcher into ‘green productivity’ issues, concerned with evaluating the life-cycle/environmental costs and benefits of alternative solutions to existing problems.  Most recently, Will has been working on ‘greening the supply chain’.

  
 Rory Dillon 

Rory Dillon is an economics researcher, particularly interested in trade and value chain development and in assessing the economic and environmental impact of value chain ‘interventions’.  Rory has undertaken a number of international projects, principally for UNIDO.

  
 Mark Setterfield 

Mark Setterfield has experience ‘on the ground’ in a range of productivity areas and techniques, having been responsible for setting and monitoring KPIs for a major manufacturing company.  More recently, Mark has worked in a consultancy and training role with a range of companies on production, productivity and performance development projects.  Mark has a particular interest in technology support for productivity and performance enhancement and works with a range of technologies including handheld data capture and analysis for ultimate portability and flexibility.
